dreadfulpennyI made the abysmal mistake of taking a four-hour nap in the middle of the day. I crawled back into bed around 12 and was shortly joined by the dog and the husband. The three of us snoozed the day away then emerged to find a humid, disgusting evening waiting for us. It rained almost all day (good napping weather), but when the rain finally stopped it turned a pleasantly cool, gray afternoon into a dirty bathroom after a shower that lasted too long. We went for food (a re-booted restaurant from J's childhood that ended up not as good as it used to be) and the mall. I have acquired flowing skirts and peasant tops. Also earrings: sushi, hotdogs+ketchup & mustard bottles and purple dinosaurs.
And now, evening at home. We're going to watch a movie (City of Ember, I think) and then go back to bed.
My mind feels like it's filled with cotton batting. I know that there are things that I wanted to write down, but it's just not coming out. I am rereading The Lies of Locke Lamora and will be reading the sequel shortly (probably). I am on vacation for four more days (today was the first day). I am tired, and my head hurts, but at least I don't feel the way that I normally do at this point in the don't-have-a-baby-pills (like I want to either jump off of a bridge or hide in a dark cave for the rest of my life).
Two good things to note:
1) I'm pretty sure we're getting a second min-pin in a few weeks! It's going to be a girl, and we're trying to come up with names.
2) We got stage seats for Blue October's acoustic show in Dallas in July. What this means is that we're actually seated on the stage and will be on camera (they're taping the show for a future DVD release).
That's it.
